Vision, Values and Aims

Our school vision, 'Trying Hard to do Our Best, We Aim High!', was updated in 2023 following consultation with pupils, parents and carers and staff. At the start of session 2026-2027, we again consulted our school community on the relevance of our vision and values. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with almost all respondents, including all but three pupils, agreeing that our vision and values continue to reflect who we are as a school and should remain unchanged.

Our core values, Happy, Confident, Achieving and Creative, have remained the same since 2013. These values were originally developed by our senior pupils and further refined in partnership with the wider school and community.

St Fergus School aims are in line with Aberdeenshire Council's aims. We are committed to GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child), ensuring that all children are supported to achieve the wellbeing indicators of being Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Responsible, Respected and Included.
