Peterhead cluster schools have a policy which prohibits all pupils below the stage of S5 in Peterhead Academy from bringing mobile smart devices to school. This includes smart phones, smart watches, and any device with a camera or that is internet ready.
There are no exceptions to this rule other than for pupils who require a mobile smart device to monitor diabetes pumps. There are no other medical conditions for which we would authorise a pupil in the broad general education to bring a mobile smart device to school.
This policy also applies to school trips both within and out with the school day. For example no mobile phones at Halloween Disco, P7 Leavers’ Night out, etc.
